The 2025 Lenten Reflection Series Schedule

Each Lent, we turn our hearts to repentance, reflecting upon Christ’s sacrifice as we strive to live more like Him. As we observe this penitential season, we invite you to join us at the Basilica for a Lenten Retreat, a series of reflections offered by Fr. Sebastian White, O.P. This year’s series is titled: “Loved By Jesus, Loving Like Jesus.” Each reflection will take place immediately after the 5:15 p.m. Mass in the Crypt Church. View the schedule below.

About the Speaker:

Father Sebastian White, O.P. grew up in Maine. Though he was baptized as a Catholic as an infant, his family soon became involved in a Protestant church. After graduating from college, he returned to the Catholic Church. Father Sebastian then went on to study theology at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria. After graduating with a Master’s degree, he was hired to work for Franciscan University’s study abroad program, also located there. He entered the Dominican Order (Province of St. Joseph) in 2008 and was ordained a priest in 2014, when he began serving as chaplain at New York University. In 2018, he became editor-in-chief of the monthly prayer devotional, Magnificat. In 2022, he was appointed student master at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., where he also continues in his role at Magnificat.
