National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

June 8 - June 9

We extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us as the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage comes to America’s Catholic Church.

This national pilgrimage will journey through the Archdiocese of Washington from June 7 through June 9, 2024, with a highlight on Saturday, June 8 — a Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a Eucharistic Procession through the surrounding Brookland neighborhood, concluding with Benediction and catechesis at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine.

Saturday, June 8

Time: Location and additional information:
8:00 a.m. Pilgrimage Mass at the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception.
9:00 a.m. Eucharistic Procession through the Brookland neighborhood of D.C., stopping at The Catholic University of America (CUA), various religious communities, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) building, and ending at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.
9:00 a.m. Simultaneous stationary pilgrimage for those with limited mobility at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.
12 Noon Benediction at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.
12:30 p.m. Catechesis on the Eucharist at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, led by Archdiocese of Washington Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjivar and a young person from the Archdiocese of Washington.

12 Noon* Solemn Mass for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage – Great Upper Church

This pilgrimage is a momentous occasion for our community to come together in prayer to celebrate and adore the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. There are two ways to participate in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage:

Volunteering:

To ensure the success of the Pilgrimage, we need dedicated volunteers who can support us in various capacities during the event. We need volunteer Altar Servers, Catholic Scouting Troops, Ministers of Hospitality, and other roles. All volunteers will be provided a complimentary lunch. If you feel called to serve, please reach out to us by May 17, 2024.
