Mass to Commemorate the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Join the Basilica in commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11 at the 5:15 p.m. Mass on Friday, September 11, 2026.
On that horrific day 25 years ago, the nation gathered in prayer at the Basilica, filling Mary’s Shrine as people came together for Mass – in shock, in tears, and in prayer, gathering in the presence of God in Mary’s House.
On this 25th anniversary, we gather once again to remember those who died, honor the brave first responders and members of our Armed Forces who answered the nation’s call in its aftermath, and entrust to the mercy of God all affected by that tragic day.
The Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, Archbishop for the Military Services, USA, will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the 5:15 p.m. Mass.
