We invite you to join us Thursday, October 12, as we celebrate the Twenty-Seventh Week in Ordinary Time and the Anniversary of the National Shrine’s Elevation to the Rank of a Minor Basilica.

Special Plenary Indulgence
For the faithful who are able to devoutly visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the anniversary of the National Shrine’s Elevation to the Rank of a Minor Basilica and who, while within this church, participate in any sacred rite or at least recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Profession of Faith may obtain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, and offer a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father) (Domus Ecclesiae, 9 November 1989)
