From a special concert by the Choir of the Basilica on All Souls Day to the first-ever Mass of the Americas, November is an eventful month at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Take a look at the events that are taking place and consider joining us in worship this month.
November 1 – Solemnity of All Saints Mass at the Basilica
All Saints Day provides us with the opportunity to reflect on the faithful who have gone before us. This day is important as we remember those who have passed, directing our gaze to Christ and what waits for us beyond this world. Join us on Friday, November 1 for the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation. View Mass schedule.
November 2 – International Day of Prayer
Join us for this year’s International Day of Prayer from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to the recitation of the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Eucharistic Adoration and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the day-long program will feature an amazing lineup of guest speakers to include: Abby Johnson (whose true story was made into the movie Unplanned), Kristan Hawkins (President of Students for Life), Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, (author of After Suicide: There’s Hope for Them), and Fr. Ubald Rugirangoga, (author of Forgiveness Makes You Free). View event information.

November 23 – Vespers for Christian Martyrs
Aid to the Church in Need and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will join together on November 23 at 6:30 p.m. for prayer and reflection on today’s Christian martyrs and those suffering for the faith around the world. Special guests from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines will share the struggles of their people so we can know how to better pray for believers around the world.
