Veneration of the Relics of St. Padre Pio

On Saturday May 21st and Sunday May 22nd, Relics of Saint Padre Pio will be available for veneration at the National Shrine. Through partnership with the Saint Pio Foundation and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, the first and second-class relics, which include the crusts of Padre Pio’s wounds, cotton gauze bearing his blood stains, a lock of his hair, his handkerchief soaked with his sweat only hours before he died, and a piece of his mantle, will be available for public veneration on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. in the Great Upper Church, followed by a Mass in honor of Padre Pio at 4:30 p.m. celebrated by His Eminence Wilton Cardinal Gregory. On Sunday the relics will be available for veneration from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
