Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

December 8, 2020

The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception invites you to join us in celebrating our Patronal Feast Day, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States. Mass will be celebrated at the following times:

Mass Times (Tuesday, December 8)

8:00 AM Great Upper Church

12:00 PM Solemn Mass of the Immaculate Conception (Broadcast Live on EWTN) Great Upper Church

Special Plenary Indulgence

For the faithful who are able to devoutly visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and who, while within this church, participate in any sacred rite or at least recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Profession of Faith may obtain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, and offer a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father) (Domus Ecclesiae, 9 November 1989 Papal Proclamation, 12 October 1990.)
