Independence Day
July 4

Celebrate Independence Day at America’s Catholic Church!
On July 4, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception welcomes the visitors and pilgrims in Washington D.C. to commemorate Independence Day by visiting the National Shrine. As the nation celebrates its founding, all are invited to gather in prayer at America’s Catholic Church, entrusting our country to God and giving thanks for the blessings of faith and freedom.
The Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving for the 250th Anniversary of Our Nation will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. by His Eminence, Donald Cardinal Wuerl, and preceded by a choral prelude performed by the Choir of the Basilica. Both the 12:10 p.m. Mass and 11:30 a.m. prelude will be livestreamed.
