It’s not always easy to practice gratitude. Sometimes God doesn’t grant the desires of our hearts; sometimes we lose things that are dear to us; and sometimes we face trials which we never imagined happening.

But regardless of whatever unfulfilled desires we experience or trials we endure, as Christians, our call to gratitude remains the same: “Give thanks in all circumstances,” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We have been saved from sin by the power of Christ’s sacrifice and can rest in the knowledge of His sovereignty over all.
