SUMMARY:Archdiocese of Military Services USA Pilgrimage and Memorial Mass
DESCRIPTION:The Archdiocese of the Military Services USA will host its annual Pilgrimage and Memorial Mass on Sunday\, May 19. The pilgrimage will begin with the availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 3:00 p.m. in the Crypt Church of the Basilica. Recitation of the Rosary will take place in the Great Upper Church at 3:45 p.m. Following the Rosary and a musical prelude\, the Most Rev. Timothy P. Broglio\, Archbishop of the Military Services USA\, will be the principal celebrant and homilist of the Memorial Mass that begins at 4:30 p.m. \nHonoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces\, particularly those who paid the ultimate price for American liberty\, the Memorial Mass begins with the posting of the colors and singing of the National Anthem. It concludes with the playing of Taps. The Memorial Mass will be taped for broadcast on EWTN on Memorial Day\, Monday\, May 27 at 12 noon.

The Solemn Mass of Divine Mercy Sunday at 12 noon will be celebrated by Archbishop Augustine Di Noia\, O.P.\, Adjunct Secretary of the Doctrine of the Faith\, in the Great Upper Church. \nThe Marians of the Immaculate Conception will offer Recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 2 p.m.\, followed immediately by Mass\, with celebrant and homilist Reverend Larry Swank. \nJoin us at 6 p.m. for the Octave of Easter Organ Recital\, featuring guest organist Clay Christiansen of the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Repertoire will include works by J.S. Bach\, Eben\, Schreiner\, Franck\, Wilberg\, and Reubke. \nA Plenary Indulgence under the usual conditions (sacramental confession\, Eucharistic Communion\, and offer a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father) may be obtained by the faithful on this day.
