DESCRIPTION:The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will once again participate in the Annual Global Rosary Relay for Priests on Friday\, June 7 — the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus\, also designated as World Priest Day. The National Shrine’s “leg” of the relay begins at 5:45 p.m.\, immediately following the 5:15 p.m. Mass in the Crypt Church. With the coming of midnight on June 7\, 2024\, the entire world will have been encircled in prayer for our priests on this Annual Global Rosary Relay Day.

DESCRIPTION:We extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us as the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage comes to America’s Catholic Church. \nThis national pilgrimage will journey through the Archdiocese of Washington from June 7 through June 9\, 2024\, with a highlight on Saturday\, June 8 — a Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception\, followed by a Eucharistic Procession through the surrounding Brookland neighborhood\, concluding with Benediction and catechesis at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine. \nSaturday\, June 8\n\n\n\nTime:\nLocation and additional information:\n\n\n8:00 a.m.\nPilgrimage Mass at the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception.\n\n\n9:00 a.m.\nEucharistic Procession through the Brookland neighborhood of D.C.\, stopping at The Catholic University of America (CUA)\, various religious communities\, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) building\, and ending at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.\n\n\n9:00 a.m.\nSimultaneous stationary pilgrimage for those with limited mobility at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.\n\n\n12 Noon\nBenediction at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.\n\n\n12:30 p.m.\nCatechesis on the Eucharist at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine\, led by Archdiocese of Washington Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjivar and a young person from the Archdiocese of Washington.\n\n\n\nSunday\, June 9\n\n\n\nTime:\nLocation and additional information:\n\n\n12 Noon*\nSolemn Mass for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage – Great Upper Church\nHis Eminence Wilton Cardinal Gregory\, Archbishop of Washington – Celebrant & Homilist\nMost Reverend Michael Burbidge\, Bishop of Arlington – Concelebrant\n\n\n\nThis pilgrimage is a momentous occasion for our community to come together in prayer to celebrate and adore the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist.
