DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us for a Mass of Thanksgiving for the Life of Pope Francis. All the faithful are invited to attend the Mass to pray for the repose of the late Pope’s soul\, and to offer thanksgiving for his life and ministry as Successor of Saint Peter. The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge\, Bishop of Arlington\, will be the principal celebrant and homilist. \nAs Monsignor Walter Rossi\, Rector of the Basilica said in a statement on the death of the Holy Father\, “we also give thanks to God for his 55 years as a priest\, his 32 years as a bishop\, and 12 years as Pope. A life of service to the Church and to God’s people\, we remember him and strive to ‘go out to proclaim the merciful embrace of the Father’ as he urged in his 2015 homily at the Basilica.” \nThis special liturgy and prayer for the late Holy Father will be livestreamed on www.nationalshrine.org/mass and broadcast live on EWTN. \n\n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n
