SUMMARY:2023 Summer Organ Recital Series – Nathan Ringkamp
DESCRIPTION:Join the Basilica for the sixth performance in our 2023 Summer Organ Recital Series on August 6 at 6:00 PM in the Great Upper Church. Nathan Ringkamp of Washington\, D.C. will perform. \nNathan Ringkamp\nNathan Ringkamp is the newly appointed music director and organist at the National Shrine of Saint Alphonsus Liguori in Baltimore\, MD. A native of Hollidaysburg\, Pennsylvania\, he is a recent graduate of The Catholic University of America’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music\, Drama\, and Art in Washington\, D.C. where he received his Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance. At CUA\, he studied organ with Benjamin LaPrairie and Ronald Stolk\, conducting with Murry Sidlin\, and voice with Gustavo Ahualli. \nWhile pursuing his studies at the university\, he played for the weekly Campus Ministry Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. He also aided with organ accompaniment and composition for various ceremonies and Masses at the Basilica\, including the Installation Ceremony of the university’s 16th president\, the Mass of the Holy Spirit\, the Mass of St. Thomas Aquinas\, the Baccalaureate Mass\, and the annual Christmas concert. From 2021 to 2023\, he served as organist at St. Dominic Church in Southwest D.C. He is also an assisting organist at the Basilica. \nNathan has recently participated in a masterclass with Felix Hell and attended the 2023 Yale Summer Organ Week with Martin Jean\, James O’Donnell\, Nathan Laube\, Janette Fishell\, and Jonathan Moyer. He will begin his Master of Music in Organ Performance with Dr. John Walker at the Peabody Conservatory in the fall of 2023. \n\n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n									   \n
